The following are some common questions that are asked by non-Muslims that come to the Dawah booth. The answers are those that I have personally extracted from taking part in the ‘Training Day: Essential Weekend Dawah Course’.
Q: Who created Allah (Allah)?
A: Allah is not created, He is the Creator. He has no beginning or end. He is the Creator of time itself. The earth, the universe, is like an atom in the Amazon compared to Knowledge, Mercy, and Power of Allah.
Q: If Allah can do anything, can He make a rock so large that even He cannot move?
A: This question is applying the laws of gravity to Allah, laws which Allah Himself created. Allah is never subject to the Laws of the Creation, because He is both the Creator and the Law-Giver.
Q: Why does Allah need us to worship Him?
A: The word ‘need’ is something ascribed to humans, plants, and animals. Allah does not ‘need’ us to worship Him. He created us out of His desire, a will incomprehensible to us. He is the Perfect and the Self-Sufficient; we need Allah.
Q: I never asked to be created, so why can’t I just be a good person?
A: You must worship your Creator the way He desires, not the way you desire. If you owned a factory, would you not send the workers instructions or let them wander aimlessly?
Q: Why doesn’t Allah just show us a direct sign instructing us what to do?
A: Did you professor give your the answers to your last test before you handed it in? Allah gave us intellect to produce reason and reflect on our why we were created. Do we want so much intervention in this life that if we were to fall off our chairs, Allah would catch us? Life is the greatest designed test we will ever take. Who will grade us?
