What We Do
Strengthening Muslims Youth
Action Against Weekeness! Empowering young Muslims is at the heart of what we do at Life Haqq. We strive to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to excel in both their personal and professional lives while remaining steadfast in their faith. By offering insightful discussions, mentorship opportunities, and practical resources, we aim to nurture their growth, foster their leadership potential, and help them navigate modern challenges with a strong sense of Islamic identity. Our goal is to inspire them to become proactive, influential members of their communities and to confidently pursue their aspirations, grounded in the values and principles of Islam.
Teach, Support, and Empower Parents
Our team guide Muslim parents on fostering strong Islamic values, ensuring that the next generation builds a robust foundation in their Muslim identity and heritage.
Supporting Muslim parents in the West involves providing them with resources and guidance tailored to their unique cultural and religious needs. This includes offering educational programs that address both Islamic values and practical parenting strategies, creating community support networks where they can share experiences and advice, and advocating for policies that respect and accommodate their religious practices. Additionally, providing access to counseling and mentorship can help parents navigate challenges related to cultural integration and identity, ensuring they can raise their children with confidence and a strong sense of belonging.
Provide Mental Health Support
Supporting Muslims’ mental health involves understanding and respecting their unique cultural and religious needs. It’s essential to create a safe, non-judgmental space where they can discuss their struggles without fear of stigma. Encourage open conversations about mental health within the community and provide access to culturally competent mental health professionals who understand Islamic practices and values. Integrating spiritual support with traditional therapy can also be beneficial. Additionally, promoting awareness about mental health resources and fostering community support networks can help individuals feel more connected and supported in their journey towards mental well-being.
Strengthen Muslim Identity
Strengthening Muslim identity involves fostering a deep connection to both cultural and religious roots while encouraging personal growth and community involvement. Emphasize the importance of understanding and embracing Islamic teachings and traditions, and provide opportunities for education and dialogue within the community. Support individuals in exploring their heritage and participating in cultural practices that reinforce their identity. Additionally, promote positive role models and success stories within the Muslim community to inspire pride and resilience. By combining education, community engagement, and personal reflection, Muslims can build a strong, confident identity that respects their past and empowers their future.
Develop Innovative New Approaches
For over 20 years, our teams have been at the forefront of research in the nonprofit and media sectors. We have pioneered groundbreaking initiatives for young Muslims in Canada and developed and tested innovative collaboration protocols that have become industry best practices. Today, our research continues to focus on empowering Muslim students, scholars, and parents, striving to enhance their educational and community experiences.
Helping Halima
“I feel very happy,” says Fatuma, mother of Halima, who recovered from a mental health condition with help from NYM Ink team. “I remember how sick she was then, and how healthy she is now, and I am so grateful.”
Partnering with Community Health Workers
To bridge the gap between remote communities and formal health systems, NYM Ink collaborates with health workers. We equip community health workers and volunteers with the skills and tools necessary to guide young Muslims in their local settings, fostering collaboration and acceptance within their communities.
